Knitting Socksf

I am just beginning my first pair of socks and am already stumped. I cast on 64 stitches and have 22 stitches on each of two needles and 20 on the third needle. I am doing a ribbing stitch (knit 2, pearl 2). When beginning to stitch on one of the needles, I must begin with 2 pearl stitches. I am not sure how to place the needles to do the first pearl stitch. It is not coming out properly. Can someone help??

Thanks so much for your help. I just can’t seem to figure it out!

The purl sts at the beg of a needle can be annoying at first…I would suggest moving your sts around some so that the Purl sts are not first…you can always move them back around for the heel when that part comes…or you could leave them where they are and a few more rounds in you should be ok with working the purl st first :happydance: …

I try to never purl at the beginning of a dpn. I have had problems getting it tight enough so I rotate which one is first on the needles if I needle to for a pattern that doesn’t come out even.

Like dustinac said you can always move them back.
