Recently, a friend of mine introduced me to one of his friends that is opening a new yarn shop in Charlotte, NC. I contacted this person, and we decided to meet to discuss the possibility of me knitting some samples for his shop. I agreed, of course. :teehee: He gave me 3 skeins of yarn, and told me to make whatever I want with them.
So far, I’ve made a nice ribbed hat, and a cowl (neckscarf). Now, I’m starting a baby hat to go with some booties I’ve almost finished.
The hat was knit with Queensland “Kathmandu Chunky” yarn. So soft and “moist” feeling. It was a fun, comforting knit.
Here’s the cowl. It was knit with Marisol “Hacho” yarn. That yarn has a nice stretchy quality to it, because it is coil-spun.
The Mary Jane booties are ready to be seamed, and I need to add buttons. They were knit from Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool.
I’m using some more of the Silky Wool yarn to make a matching hat.
I’m planning on taking the samples to the yarn shop this Friday. The shop is called Yarnhouse, and is located in the NoDa district of Charlotte, an urban, “artsy” section of the city. I’ll also be taking my keyboard to play live music for the grand opening celebration. I’m excited!
