Knitting query

Hi I’m knitting my first raglan cardigan (haven’t knitted for the last 20yrs) and am stuck with the meaning in a row that states PM, k2 (raglan), k7 (sleeve1), yo, PM, k2 (raglan)…what does the raglan mean in the brackets? Do I increase?

Welcome to the forum!
What is the name of your pattern?
There’s nothing to do at the word (raglan). It’s information that the k2 is going to be part of the raglan seam. There’ll likely be 4 raglan seams at the joins of the sleeves to the front and to the back.

Thank you so much for replying. It’s called Trippi Cardigan by Barbara Ajroldi www.tricotting.com. So I guess I just k2 disregard it saying raglan as it’s indicating where the sleeves are going to join to the front and back?
Marie

Yes, that’s right. If you read further in the pattern there’ll be directions for increasing at these raglan stitches as well as directions for the sts themselves.

Very sweet pattern!

Thank you again for your support, I really appreciate it.
