It’s definitely lighter and airier than the photos on the website or on Ravelry, maybe because the yarn is thinner than that used for the samples. Yours looks like a beautiful floating cloud.
It looks lovely to me but I agree with ColoCro, what do you think?

I like the design but it is a gift for my mum who would like to use it mostly to protect her neck from the sun so I am worried that it is too airy for my purpose 
I am afraid it will be too warm. I am now looking at the Modern Deco Lace targhee & tencel as an alternative as it seems thicker than the yarn I am using but still relatively cool to wear in summer.
Pretty and practical gift for your mom. Yes, this is not going to be as protective as a bit heavier yarn.
The Targhee and Tencel looks good in weight and gauge. There are also cotton/linen (i.e. Hempathy) or cotton/wool blends that are light enough for summer.
