Knitting pattern from row 35-1

Hi there,
I am new here in this community, so I hope I am asking my question in the right way.
I have been knitting a scarf with a cable which makes it look like a bunny. I am not sure I am allowed to put a link to the pattern, so I will not do that for the moment.
I thought it would be nice to knit in one direction, then halfway through knit upside down. So that when the scarf is done, you have both bunnies going in the same direction, not one upside down.
(Does any of this make sense?!)
I simply started making one bunny by reading the pattern from row 35-1. It went completely fine, until the last few rows and I have no idea how to fix it. Does anyone have a clue of what I can do to make this work? I will add first a picture of the bunny that I can 't make work.1583577709388389780429|899x1200

Welcome to KH!
Actually, the bunny looks very nice to me. It’s fine to post a link to the pattern (often on Ravelry). We just try not to directly post large portions of patterns due to copyright.

Thanks so much for your reply! I will add a link to the pattern. The bunny is fine, apart from the butt, which is upside down. https://www.studioknitsf.com/bunny-cable/
I am not sure how I can change the pattern so that that particular part also is correct.

The bobble for the tail? I don’t see a way to change the orientation. Honestly, it all looks adorable.

Here is the bottom part of a bunny that is good. The cable starts to go in a half circle, the little tail comes above it. With the one that is wrong the part underneath the tail is upside down, the half circle facing downward instead of being the bottom part of the bunny.

Are you crossing the cables in row 5 in the correct direction? The first cable along the row will cross up to the left (hold sts in front) and the second will cross up to the right (hold sts in back).

I have been following the pattern exactly, which meant I have actually done that the other way around to what you are saying. I will take it out and try it that way, thanks so much!! I am sorry I wasn’t very clear, I am a bit new to all of this still.

You’re fine and the scarf does look lovely. It just took me awhile to see what you were seeing.

I’ll leave the how to do the bunny to salmonmac, she’s much better than I’ll ever be at knitting, but can address this. You can knit two halves and join the pieces in the back. If you decide to do that ask how to go about it as there are different ways of joining pieces, some easier than others.

Thanks a lot! I tried to do what you suggested and it worked! Now it looks just like the other bunnies and I will be able to continue this way until the scarf is finished. I really appreciate your help!

Oh I didn’t think of that, great idea as well!! For a next project I may just do that instead of trying to figure out how to knit upside down  Thanks a lot!

I understand what you are doing, and why, and that is a great idea.

However, trying to “reverse” any pattern produces its own problems. As you have already discovered.

You are attempting to make a Seafarer’s Scarf https://seamenschurch.org/sites/default/files/sci-seafarers-scarf.pdf Now, if you look at it carefully, you will see that the pattern is from the neck to the ends, and both sides are the same because they both are knit in the same direction.

You can knit from the ends to the neck region and graft together (very simple to do), or you can start at the neck and work down to the ends - depending on pattern direction. They do the neck area in rib so it is not as bulky there - you can do any pattern at the neck; start with a provisional cast-on. Also fairly simple to do. Give it a try.
