Knitting on Circulars

Is there any reason why you couldn’t take a pattern calling for DP needles and using a circular needle instead?

The only constraint I can think of is the number of stitches. Sometimes the number of sts is too few to comforably stretch around even a small circular needle. You can use magic loop however to work small diameter projects or use 2 circulars. Either technique will allow you to work as small a diameter as needed.

I do patterns written for dpn on magic loop. Sometimes I need to use markers to know which stitches are on which needle because that’s how the pattern is written. Something like for needle 2 - k2, k2tog. I only choose dpn for glove fingers.
