I have been knitting using English method. I’m trying to teach myself Continental. I find purling Continental method to be more difficult for me. But, I’ll keep working on it. My question is this: Can you use both methods of knitting in the same project? Like, Continental for knit rows and English for purls? Or will this produce twisted stitches and other problems?
Knitting methods
Yes, you can do both methods. As long as you do both of them correctly, no twisted sts or funky stuff will happen. You might want to looked at Amy’s video for the combined method…in that one the knit sts are twisted, but you untwist them with the combined purl which is supposedly easier. I also think the norwegian purl (also Amy’s video) is easier although once I got use to continental I don’t switch around much.
