Knitting Journal anyone?

I want to buy a knitting journal. I see there are about 4 out there to choose from. Do any of you have one and which one and how do you like it? I’d like to write about what I made, sample of the yarn…include needle size and the label from the yarn etc.

I like the idea of a journal. I have wanted to do something like that for some time for my knitting, quilting, cake making and crocheted items.

Sorry, I have no information on any specific journals though, not very helpful I guess. Good luck getting it started though. It would be nice to have all that information instead of wait until you forget it (like I do) and then try to put it all down.

I just have a regular notebook that I use to jot down sketches, pattern modifications and notes, gauge and needle sizes, etc.

Then again, I’m not exactly the organized type

Anyone else do this??

I kind of use my blog as a journal…that way you can attach digital pics too. You can get a free blog and you can even mark it as private if you don’t want to share it with the world.

I was at Half Price books the other day and came across a knitting journal… I thought well heck for under $5 why not try it out… It’s actually really nice ( a bit scuffed but hey lol) There is a place for you to keep track of all the needles in your inventory (straights, circs, dpns) a place to keep track of different LYS, a section of jotting down where you saw a pattern in case yuo may want to find it later, there’s even graphing paper to sketch designs… It’s pretty neat I think, I have already started using it. My favorite part is a place for you to keep all the measurements of all those you would be knitting for. So you can always have their measurements on hand.

I found this link of it.

I considered purchasing an official knitting journal…but they just didn’t have enough room for all the stuff I wanted to jot down about my knitting. I did find a journal with graph paper, and I snatched it up!

Aello, that is one I did not see before. I just may order one. Seems like there are plenty of them to choose from. Thanks everyone for your suggestions! :XX: :XX:

This may sound strange, but I use a 3-ring binder with clear sheet protectors to hold various things. I like to keep the tags from yarn I buy so I can refer back for washing instructions, etc. I’ll staple these to blank paper and write notes on what needle size I used, what I made, how many balls I used, etc. I have other pages with little index cards paper-clipped on containing stitch patterns or notes about things I’ve made. This way I can pull them out to use again. Other pages have patterns I may have purchased. I guess it isn’t really a journal as much as my own way to organize all the bits of paper I generate out of my knitting!

I also keep a 3 ring binder with protector sheets… I have sections for different patterns and my FO… On the FO I take card stock paper, place the photo of the FO on there with all my notes along with the skeins paper and a strand of it… Now the binder is to the point where I need 2 one for patterns and one for FO… Also my very last page is my to do list… where I have categories for: Pattern name, For whom, What yarn, Started, Finished, Check mark when complete… When I’m working on a project I use a notebook that I keep notes in…
