Knitting Jargon - need help

Can someone explain what this means?
Sl 1 pwise wyif, M1, knit to last st, end M1, K1

This is confusing to me because I am not sure if I am supposed to bring the yarn to the back after I slip in order to M1. Then, at the end of the row, if I knit to the last stitch, is “end M1, K1” the same as knit front and back?

This is driving me crazy – hope someone out there can help. BTW, these are instructions from the Universal Yarn Butterfly Vest pattern. It’s a free pattern available online.

You could do a backward loop m1 where the yarn is just looped around your needle, then put in the back to knit stitches. A m1 is not the same as a kfb, usually you lift the strand between sts and knit it to make it twisted, or you can use the loop as I mentioned above.

Thank you, Suzee – I’ll give that a try.
