Knitting in the round

I am knitting a sweater top to bottom in the round I have got to the cuff and suddenly my stitches won’t move around the needles tried all sorts of methods think it’s something to do with moving the sleeve round too can anyone shed any light to what’s happening

What pattern are you making and who is the disigner?
The sleeve will twist as you work around so you’ll need to untwist periodically. The sleeve may also be getting narrower as you work to the cuff. That may necessitate going to a technique for small diameter circular knitting like dpns, magic loop or two circulars.
Maybe if you post a photo we’ll have a better idea of the problem?

your stitches might be too tight or bunched up. Try using a magic loop or double-pointed needles to ease the movement

Hi Susie, if the circumference of your knitting (the cuff) is smaller than the length of your cable (assuming you are working with a circular needle), then it becomes impossible for the stitches to fit anymore. In that case you will have to add a second circular needle or switch it onto dpn’s or else onto a longer cable that’s long enough for magic loop. Good luck, I hope this helps.
