Knitting in the round with long needles

I’m working on a pair of arm warmers on connected needles. The only problem is that the length of my needles are 16", but the pattern calls for a smaller round. I’ve seen ladies knitting up socks on long needles by having only one stitch on the needle. How might I go about this?

I’m not sure what you mean by one stitch on the needle.

16 inch is only for hats or hat size things. You need at least a 24 for modified magic loop or at least a 32 for regular magic loop.

You can use two sets of circs as well. That’s what I do. If you have another set that has the same size needles you’re good to go.

All methods can be found under advanced techniques in the video section here in KH or you can see more here.
