Knitting in the round question

I made a pair of legwarmers that I sold in a craft show Saturday so I no longer have them. They were very simple stockinette stitch with a one stitch rib every 7 stitches or so.

The woman who purchased them also ordered a pair of arm warmers exactly like them (only smaller around and shorter, of course…) No problem! EXCEPT, when I got home, I couldn’t find the pattern I’d written down and now when I knit them up, the top part rolls as I know SS does… But whatever I did to the original pair fixed it as the legwarmers didn’t roll… HELP! I tried purling the first row before I switched to SS to no avail.

Any other ideas?

Did you maybe do k1, p1 for a row or two then do the 7 st rib?

Anyway you can look at the leg warmers again for a minute or perhaps call the lady and ask if she can send you a picture via e-mail of them?

thanks for your ideas. I’ll try the K1, P1 deal and see what happens.

I thought of giving her a call, SuzeeQ, but would do so only as a last resort, as I’d like to pretend I’m a professional - Har har!

Oops – I mean MarigoldinWA! Thanks again.
