Knitting in the round on small DPN

I’ve got several projects I’d like to begin (Mr. Foster included) that are knit on teeny DPNs. I cannot figure out how to begin with the incredibly small DPN’s and knitting in the round. I’ve knit on DPNs before, but casting on only 4 stitches on DPN’s and then to begin knitting is definitely the hardest thing I’ve done.

Any pointers would be so appreciated!

Put the sts on only 2 needles to begin, and knit with a 3rd. Then as you increase sts and increase rounds you can add another needle.
