Knitting in letters?

How do I knit “KV” into a scarf? I’m doing it for a friend and I know i’ve seen something like it somewhere

Any help? I have no idea how else to explain it x_x;

in the free patterns on this site there is a hat with VW on it~ I would think that would give you good directions for doing letters in your knitting…

I think in purl will be nicest - nice and subtle, like an embroidered monogram. You could also duplicate stitch, but that will be ugly on the wrong side - unless you are making a tubular scarf.
