Knitting grid paper?

Me Again, seems like I’m always on here…
I want to make a sweater for my husband and put a penguin on the front of it. I found the perfect pattern, a neck-down pullover by Knitting Pure and Simple. I found the perfect penguin on a child’s sweater pattern. I took the penguin and had it enlarged to what I think looks like the right size for my hubby’s sweater, however, I don’t know how to incorporate the design into the front of the sweater. I’ve heard of knitting grid paper, do I need that to transfer the design? How do I do that, someone told me you can do it on a copier? HELP! I’d appreciate some specific directions. Thank you…

Thank you very much for your help, I appreciate it very much!

At the risk of sounding stupid, ok, I found the knitting grid paper, now what? In other words, how do I plot out the penguin for the front of the sweater?I’m using Knitting Pure and Simple’s Neckdown Pullover for Men pattern. Also, does anyone know what a "lighter circular cast-on is? I’m trying to start an elephant’s head. You’re laughing…I can hear you! Thank you. Kay
