knitting for olive vanilla dress I need help with the beginning of this pattern please

With 2.5 mm / US1 needle, using Provisional cast on method and leaving a 10 cm [4"] tail for crocheting the

button loop, cast on 84 (84, 92, 92 // 100, 100, 108) sts

Row 1: Purl to end of row

I-cord edge

Make 3 sts into first st (k1, k1tbl, k1) [2 sts increased], *sl 3 sts back on left needle purlwise, k2, sl1k, k1,

psso [1 st decreased]; repeat from * to last st

Sl 3 sts back on left needle = 4 sts

Bo1, sl1k, k1, psso, pass first st over last st = 1 st

Do not break yarn

Remove provisional waste yarn, and place 84 (84, 92, 92 // 100, 100, 108) live sts onto 2.5 mm / US1 needle

= 85 (85, 93, 93 // 101, 101, 109) sts

Do not join work

Here’s a video for applied i-cord (see especially the first section). For some patterns stitches need to be picked up along the edge. You won’t have to do this because you already have live sts on the needle. Increase to the 3sts required. Then you slip the 3sts back to the left needle, k2, slip the 3rd stitch of the i-cord, k1 stitch from your live sts (one of the original 84sts) and pass the slipped stitch over.

This continues to the end of the row where you’re left with 4sts. Decrease by binding off one stitch, slip 1, k1, psso then pass stitch one over stitch 2 leaving you with one stitch on the needle.

Now you undo the provisional cast on of 84sts and that plus the single stitch on the needle gives you 85sts. The i-cord edging forms the neckband on the dress.

Thank you for your help much appreciated !
