Oh I just had SO much fun. Mom, Kayleigh and I took a field trip to Kiparoo Farm on their open studio day. It took about an hour from our house. It was the most beautiful spring day- clear blue sky, not a lot of traffic… we found it with no troubles. bumpy dirt road and all!
Annie hand dyes the loveliest wool she “Grows” herself.

she has lots of sheep as well as cows and lovely chicks that lay the bright blue eggs. we spent all morning (and a pile o’ cash) there. Annie is so nice and her son Kip showed Kayleigh all the animals and let her touch them and she even got to feed the new calf a bottle of milk!

she has the sweetest little shop, and the nicest yarn. Here’s what I bought:

and there are lots more pictures in my Flickr site:
they aren’t organized yet.
At the end of that we stopped by WoolWinders in Rockville. So nice!!!
I’m exhausted and so excited about my new projects. Between my lovely secret pal and this excursion I’ll be busy til Christmas! Thanks for looking!!! and if you ever want to drive out to rural Adamstown Md, Kiparoo farm is the BEST!
Look for her booth at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Fesitval in 2 weeks!
