I need some recommendations for fiction books that include knitting. So far, I’ve read:
the Knitting Mysteries by Maggie Sefton
the A Good Yarn series by Debbie Macomber
Are there any others out there??
Thanks,
knitcindy

Oooo love knitting books especially mysteries! Try these authors. I haven’t gone through all the authors yet myself.
Mary Kruger
Sally Goldenbaum
Ann Canadeo
Beth Patillo
Gil Mcneil
Anne Bartlett
Ann Hood
Lori Wilde
I read a book called Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs. It’s apparently a trilogy now? But I only read the first one. I thought it was pretty good; I’d give it a solid B.
I will be starting the copy of The Sweethearts’ Knitting Club after I finish the book I am currently reading
The other books are called “Knit Two” and “Knit the Season.” My partner has read two of them and really enjoyed them.
it’s a trilogy now. I didn’t like the second at all and have no desire to read the third.
there’s also “the knitting circle” and i think that’s by ann hood.
A friend of mine gave me “Knitting Under the Influence” by Claire LaZebnik. I haven’t read it though so I can’t tell you much about it. Here’s the Amazon link though: http://www.amazon.com/Knitting-Under-Influence-Claire-LaZebnik/dp/0446697958/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1263604072&sr=8-1
Thanks to one and all for your recommendations!!! Now I’ll have to get over to the library and see which ones they have!!!

I love Gil McNeil’s books “Divas Dont Knit” (I think this may have a differrent title in the US) and “Needles and Purls”. They inspired me to take up knitting
“Divas Don’t Knit” is titled “Beach Street Knitting Society and Yarn Club” in the US.
Just had a great time browsing my library’s online catalogue and ordering books by Maggie Sefton and Debbie Macomber (wow she is prolific!). I had read The Friday Night Knitting Club and am delighted to find they have the other 2.
Knitcindy - what did you get from the library?
Irishmam…most of Debbie Macomber books are not knitting related. You probably discovered that though.
I’m reading Casting Off by Nicole R. Dickson right now on my iPod Kindle. It’s pretty good so far.
BTW…there is a free app for Kindle on Itunes and you can download Kindle books to it. :cheering:
Hi one and all!
I was able to find the following:
Knitting by Anne Bartlett
The Beach Street Knitting Scoiety and Yarn Club by Gil McNeil
Knitting Under the Influence by Claire LaZebnik
The others were either already out or not in the system. My favorite so far is Gil McNeil’s book. Since I have 4 kids, I “completely” understand all the craziness Jo is going thru with her boys and Trevor. Even though my 2 sons are now way older than hers, I remember what it was like trying to keep them clean and in order - a laugh a minute!
Any other recommendations?

I love Gil’s books! When I was at College, I lived in Whistable as mentioned in the book (must see can I dig out an old photo and post it)
I am reading Knit 2 at the moment, the sequel to The Friday Night Knitting Club - I liked the 1st one better. I reserved a load of books and expect them to be ready for collection today so will let you know my favs.
