Knitting Circles Around Socks--question

I’m getting ready to take a class and need to purchase this book and the needles for the class. If you’ve done socks from this book, can you help me?

My Materials List says:
Needles: 2 -#5 circular, 2 lengths (16" and 24" recommended)

My question is, do I need 2 #5 needles, one a 16" and one a 24", or

Do I need 4 needles, , two 16" and two 24"?

Help!!

P.S. I’m getting books and needles at the same time, so I can’t look in the book myself to see how the patterns are set up!

you need two circular needles size 5. one will be 16" and the other 24".

Thanks!! I didn’t want to buy extra needles that I wouldn’t need. I have the knitpicks options and harmonies in 24", but dind’t know whether to get one or two 16" I appreciate the info!
