Hi
I’m knitting a shrug from sport weight yarn, it seems kinda flimsy, are shrugs better made from worsted weight?
The shrug is just plain stocking stitch as I haven’t made a shrug before and just wanted a plain one to start and see if it turns out…lol
Thanks!

The best yarn weight for a shrug depends upon what you want. If you feel it’s too flimsy and have enough yarn to do so you could use two strands held together. I think that would be about equivalent to a heavy worsted weight yarn. Garter stitch makes a denser fabric, you might see how you like your yarn in it. You could look on Ravelry and see what patterns for shrugs in a sport weight are like. You could also try different sizes of needles.
My aunt has crocheted a shrug from cotton yarn for me It is so soft, just fantastic. I love its pattern and design. I am very excited to wear it :cheering:
