Knitting a flower

Dear Friends

I am knitting the first flower in this book. Page 12.

10 Flowers and Vases Knitting Patterns
By Tahira Ahmed

Cast on 2 stitches
Row 1.
Inc 3 stitches and cast off 3 stitches, k2.

What does this mean? I am starting with only 2 stitches on my needle. Does the author mean I should cast on 3 more stitches? Then cast off these 3 stitches, then knit 2 remaining stitches?

Row 2
P

Row 3

Inc 3 stitches and cast off 3 stitches, k2

Etc.

Thank you

One more question on this knitting a flower email.
Cast on 2 stitches. Inc 3 stitches. Cast off 3 stitches,
., k2.

When i cast off three stitches I have one stick on left hand needle and one on right hand needle. So how do I k 2?

Yes, these are good questions.
Looking at the Amazon preview, it seems that the best way to work this is as you suggested. Cast on 3sts, then bind off 3sts.
The next step is to knit one off the left hand needle leaving you with 2sts.
Doesn’t seem to be a carefully edited pattern although the flowers are pretty.

Thank you. You always come to my rescue.

The one review on Amazon, a 1-star review, says the book talks about “pearl” stitches…so I’d say there had been no editing whatsoever. And indeed, the pattern for the vase is:
Cast on 30 stitches
Row 1: Knit row
Row 2: Pearl row
etc

Maybe “pearl” stitch meant to be a “purl” stitch or row??

Thank you to all.
