:shrug: I feel so stupid! I’ve tried 3times time start this hat and by row 2 I’ve already messed up the pattern! I know to knit the knit stitches and purl the pulls, but for whatever reason, it still comes out wrong!
I’m so frustrated at this point!

You might be doing accidental yarn overs when you move the yarn from back to front to purl or going from front to back to knit. See if you can figure out where the extra stitches are. If the problem is yarn overs you might be able to see holes where they are. Are you using double points or circular needles?
I’m using a 16" circular needle. I don’t have holes, It’s just that sometimes I home up short a stitch or have an extra one. Not always, and It’s always just one. Just every once in awhile.
I may have to take it to my lys and see what they think!

Having someone look at your knitting is a good idea and a nearby lys is perfect.
You could try using markers every 10sts at least for the first few rows to help locate the problem. They’ll make it easiert to see where the extra stitch is coming from. The other possiblity is to go over the round naming the sts as you go to see where you go off pattern.
