Knitted Uterus

Well, a good friend who is a fellow doula and childbirth educator asked me to knit her a uterus that will hold “baby” during demonstrations of how babies come out and the uterus dilates. Anyone know of any patterns?

You guys should … after all, this is the home of the ladies who know where to find weenie warmers! :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

Thanks in advance,
Alison

PS. I’m thinking of doing a K2tog, yo coupled with an I-cord to show how a cervix dilates. Whaddya think? Or should I simply do a really snug ribbing instead?

Well, whaddya know!

:roflhard: My bf was -not- amused when I showed him the weenie warmers.

I was laughin my ass off though.

I love EVERYTHING about this thread. :roflhard: :roflhard:

Good luck with the ute, Alison!

In case you guys haven’t seen this, I thought I’d add it to the mix. It can be the ‘before’ model! :rofling:

My daughter-in-law is becoming a childbirth educator. She knows that as an obsessive knitter, I am always interested in project ideas. She would love to have a knitted uterus and sent me one possible pattern. In quickly reading over it, I had a few questions about it and would love to have a pattern from someone out there that you recommend. I am new to this blog, found it by googling!

I am sitting here just about falling off my chair with laughter! This is the funniest thing I have read in a long long time!! And the ‘cute cuddly uterus doll’ just about takes the cake.

 :roflhard: Ok, I am amazed at what patterns people can find lol!! And then I wonder, when I am looking for something that seems very basic, why I can’t find what I’m looking for!!

Over at the AntiCraft blog they have a pattern for not only a knitted uterus, but the ahem entire set of female reproductive organs. And it’s also a purse! :noway: Brenda Dayne mentioned it in episode 28 of Cast On.

The pattern and hilarious photographs can be found here. I personally found the project funny and harmless but please don’t click if you believe you’re likely to be offended by a knit reproductive system…
