Knit with love baby blanket patt question

I’m new to knitting. I’ve been practicing and I’m ready to start this blanket, but I have a few questions about the directions.
Below is the Color A square (My question is below it)

With Color A, Cast on 25 stitches.
Rows 1- 4: *K1, P1, repeat from * to end.
Row 5: [K1, P1, K1, P1], P to last 4 stitches, [K1, P1, K1, P1]
Row 6: [K1, P1, K1, P1], K to last 4 stitches, [K1, P1, K1, P1]
Row 7 and 9: Repeat Row 5
Row 8 and 10: Repeat Row 6
Row 11:[K1, P1, K1, P1], P8, K1, P8, [K1, P1, K1, P1]
Row 12: [K1, P1, K1, P1], K7, P3, K7, [K1, P1, K1, P1]
Row 13: [K1, P1, K1, P1], P6, K6, P6, [K1, P1, K1, P1]
Row 14: [K1, P1, K1, P1], K5, P7, P5, [K1, P1, K1, P1]
Row 15: [K1, P1, K1, P1], P4, K9, P4, [K1, P1, K1, P1]

Bind off in pattern.

[B]My question is about the heart pattern (color A) vs the intro. In the pattern directions there is no mention of seed stitches. But intro. it says All blocks made with color A have a 1" seed stitch border with an odd number stitches cast on. So do I do the seed stitch or not and if so where in the pattern?[/B]

the k1, p1 rows and edges are seed stitch.

Rows 1-10 are seed stitch, and after that the first and last 4 are seed stitch. Just follow the pattern and you should be fine.

How did you know they were seed stitch? Oh man have I been doing it wrong? I’ve been knitting one, purling one, etc. :doh:Oh but that is a seed stitch. That’s right.

So I should just ignore the intro. information since it’s spelled out in the pattern right?

Thanks! I guess I’m thinking to much about it.

Sometimes patterns give explanations that are redundant and confuse people. I suppose that it’s just a reminder that it should be seed stitch rather than ribbing. :shrug:
