Hi!
I am a beginner knitter attempting a blanket for my friends baby! And I am following a knit / purl pattern, however I had a nice knot going through my blanket and now I don’t?
As you can imagine I am getting very frustrated with it! And I am not sure what I have done wrong … will I have to start again? Or can you continue and try to get the pattern back?
Thank you
Another note is that it seems the knot is on the other side? Have I missed a Purl / Knit stitch and done two purls in a row? Or is it suppose to look like this?
Welcome to KnittingHelp and to knitting!
It’s going to be a lovely, soft blanket. You’re doing very well.
Do you mean that the V or knit side and the bump or purl side seem to have changed sides (purl bumps on the knit side)? Yes, that’s probably due to knitting 2 rows or purling 2 rows rather than alternating one knit with one purl row.
If it’s at the edge it’s probably a happy accident as it may help counteract the tendency of this stitch pattern (called stockinette) to curl.

I think it looks nice as it is - a happy accident indeed, and it will still keep someone nice and cosy.
haha! Thank you… I might do two lines of a stitch to get it back the other way round … hopefully the rest of the blanket goes smoothly!
