I am trying to make a blanket for my son and it requires a knit, purl, knit in the same stitch. I’m not making it properly and am getting frustrated. So, if you could walk me through the proper technique, I would appreciate it wholeheartedly.
Knit purl knit in same stitch
Insert your right needle into the stitch and knit it, as usual, BUT don’t slip the original stitch off the left needle yet. Bring the yarn to the front and purl the SAME stitch, still not slipping the original stitch off the left needle. Bring the yarn back again and knit the SAME stitch once more, this time slipping the stitch off the left needle. So you have essentially made three stitches where there originally was just one.

To kpk in the same stitch, first knit into the stitch, but don’t slide it off. Bring the yarn forward between the needles and purl into the same stitch, but don’t slide it off. Bring the yarn back between the needles, knit again into the stitch and then slide the whole shebang off. You’ll have three stitches where there was one.
