Save the Children Federation, based in Westport, CT recently launched Knit One, Save One to inspire knitters and crocheters around the world to help save newborns from preventable deaths.
For more information, log on to and request an Action Kit with free baby cap patterns for knitters and crocheters.
Your baby cap can save a life. Please consider adding a letter to our newly elected US President asking him to do more for the newborns of the world.
I was tickled pink to see this post! Just as the UK campaign ends, another appeal opens across the pond! :cheering: :happydance: :woohoo:
(I’m sorry I’ve not responded earlier but I’ve been away on holiday and we’ve had endless probs with the phone line the last few days.)
Want to wish you Good Luck and happy clicking and clacking! :yay:
Thanks to the ladies who have responded to my thread and added links for the Save the Children - Knit One, Save One Campaign. I participated in their last campaign back in 2006 and the results were truly amazing. One of the parents at the school where I teach is a Child Survival Specialist for Save the Children. He said the staff here in CT was overwhelmed by the generosity and creativity of knitters and crocheters during the 2006 campaign.
Congratulations to those of you who have already participated in a similar campaign in your native countries. :yay: I can only believe that all around the knitters and crocheters will continue to respond to the call to help the infants of the world. It is heart-warming to know that one little baby hat can make a difference in someone’s quality of life.
Here is one to get the thread started :cheering: :yay: I have added the hat to the Any Charity Hat thread too.
Julie - Thanks for the button I have added it

For anyone who is interested, I got this email from Save the Children Canada:
We will be running a campaign that will launch on November 1, but it will be for children of all ages, not just newborns and will include blankets, scarves and sweaters as well. I will send out an email that explains it a little closer to the date, and it will also be posted at www.savethechildren.ca <http://www.savethechildren.ca/>
I have my fingers crossed . If it does wash and dry well then at least you will not get caron yarn withdrawal. I do not want to see you climbing the walls .
