Knit celery pattern question

I have been working on the knitted celery on this page:

and there seems to be a mistake in the pattern on the leaves. It says:
1st Leaf: (Now working only on these 7 stitches)
Row 3: K2tog, k3, k2tog. (5 sts)
Row 4: Knit.
Row 5: Cast on 2 sts, k to end. (9 sts)

If you had 5 sts on row 3 and cast on 2, shouldn’t you then have 7 sts, not 9? I end up 2 sts short the whole way from then on. Would you cast on 2 more to make it 9 or just continue as I have been - I usually skip row 16 and go straight to row 17 when I get there!

has anyone tried this pattern before?

At the bottom of the pattern are links to the designers website and email address. Why don’t you look around the website to see if there are any posted corrections. If you don’t see any, I would email her and ask.
