Knit across

Hi,
I have made a hat for my sister newborn baby.first of all in the pattern it has two flower on it that it says I should increase stitches in one row and knit across in the second row I know how to increase but I do not know what is knit across.
In addition my hat length is 5.1 inch does it fit the newborn baby?
Thanks a lot for helping me.

“Knit across” just means knit the row without doing any increases, i.e., just knit the row.

As to whether it will fit, if you’re getting the gauge indicated by the pattern, and the baby is an average baby, it should fit.
