I am trying to learn the kitchener technique for casting off (binding off) a neck. I have used the traditional method but cannot get my head through!! I thought the kitchener method might be looser. I am not sure how to manage a knit 3 purl 3 rib. Can anyone help please?
I am not sure if I understand your actual question. Did you see Amy’s video on kitchner? It can be found here by scrolling down to “finishing.”
Hope that helps some.
AFAIK, there is no kitchener b/o for 3x3 rib. There are only single and double rib versions. (And the double rib one doesn’t look that great, IME.) If you need a looser b/o, maybe you could try a regular chain b/o in pattern with larger needles. EZ’s sewn b/o is stretchy too, though it wouldn’t match the rib.
The double rib could be used, just repeating the instructions for the 3rd knit or purl stitch.
Oh wow. I had no idea. How do you do the tubular set-up rows? :??
