I can’t seem to find the kitchener stitch video. I am about to finish my first socks(North Country Cotton socks) and I am so confused!! Please help me locate the video.
OK, cancel that. I found it… and I think I am going to be sick. I should have tried this out on a practice piece of work. Please tell my didn’t just irrevocably ruin my first sock.
It’s really not so hard once you figure it out. I always say to myself “knit, purl, knit purl” and know that the first stitch on each needle gets taken off and the second one stays on. Others have some variation of this, but I find this one easiest to remember. Here’s some still pictures that may help bring it home for you.

Well, I messed it up and had to frog back. I found it very hard to take out just the part that was “kitchener stitch”, probably because I did it wrong and it was all tangled up. Thank you so much for those links. I will take a look at them and see if I can figure it out. Wish me luck!
Jan, those pictures from Knitty were awesome. I am fairly sure I can do this now. Thanks!
