Kitchener Stitch Scarf

Hi! I’m working on this scarf pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/favorite-scarf-ever I am at the point where it’s time to attach the 2 halves of the scarf. Here’s a picture for reference:

I watched many videos on Kitchener stitch and I understand how to do it, but my working yarn seems to be in the wrong position. In every video I checked for Kitchener stitch the working yarn is always on the top right side of the needle with the wrong sides facing each other. But in my case the working yarn is on the bottom right. Did I do something wrong and how do I go about seaming it up using Kitchener stitch? Thanks!

Hmm, might be a simple solution but if you need the working end in a specific place, could you do one more row, so the working end is in a different position? I love the yarn you chose, looks great in that stitch pattern.

Thank you so much! I’ll try that!
