Hi, probably a shot in the dark but does anyone have a copy of King Cole Patern 4537 (Girls Poncho) they could e/mail me?
Not able to obtain one online as I live in Spain and the euro/sterling conversion a problem. Hope someone can help pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese.

Jean
Really sweet pattern. Unfortunately, because of designer and company copyright, we can’t share patterns on the forum. I hope your able to find another source.
Hi, thanks for the info but unfortunately I live in Spain and not able to get it online as we use euros and UK sterling and all the new Brexit laws makes it so difficult. So disappointed as it was really a pattern I wanted.

There are some awfully cute ponchos on Ravelry but nothing quite the same. This is as close as I could come.
Hi, just downloaded the pattern and it is ideal so thanks for that. Lots of patterns these days call for circular needles but I just cannot get the hang of
them so I stick to my 2 needles.
Going to get started on it this afternoon and I cannot wait to see the results.
Many many thanks again.

I’m so glad @salmonmac found you a good alternative! She’s a gem! ![]()
As for circular needles, I think you mean using two circulars instead of two straights. You just pretend they’re straight needles and ignore the tips on the other end.
Hi, yes she is a treasure and I have started the Poncho already.
Re circulars - not quite sure what you mean? I did wonder if I could use two straight needles when I see a pattern I like but says use circulars???
Keep knitting and smiling

As long as you can fit all your stitches on straight needles, you can!
Pretend you cut off one tip of each of two long circular needles. Then you have two flexible straight needles. I wouldn’t actually cut off the tips, but I hope that explanation helps.
Thanks Beth - will give it a try next time I spy an interesting pattern.
Keep well

Circular needles aren’t just for knitting in the round. I use a circular for knitting flat. I don’t drop and lose an empty needle (I’m sure you’re not as prone to that as I am), a circular can accommodate more stitches and allows me to knit a blanket all in one piece. I knit sweaters without seams on circulars whether they’re knit flat or in the round. There are advantages with using circulars but there’s nothing wrong with using straight needles. I’m not trying to convert you.
Hi Grumpy, thanks for the advice. Will probably try again to use them - all adds to the fun of knitting eh?
Keep knitting and smiling.

Whatever works for you. You’re the knitter. You choose your own tools and methods.
Hi Jean13, I use circular needles to knit flats too. Try to use bigger tip size not itsy bitsy one (5"+ for me worked) and it feels like DPN but lot less weight on your wrists. Salmonmac is realy gem.
Patterns that are knit in the round can be altered just slightly to be made flat, kn straights.
I also prefer straight needles actually. Whilst circulars can reduce weight strain in wrists when making sweaters, I am not keen on the way the cord pulls on my needle, I like a straight as nothing pulls on it.
I use both. I put up with circulars for the convenience of them either being good and long to knit back and forth on with lots of stitches or because I have to knit laying down and they work better.
But given the option I would also prefer straights.
If you ever see a pattern which calls for circulars and knitting in the round I’m sure there will be someone here to help you change it to a flat knit… and the more you change the more you get the hang of doing it.
Hi, thanks for the explanation. Suppose circulars take a while to get the hang of but one day I will give them a try again???
