Hello, may I ask for your advice please? I am new to the forum and would describe myself as a improving beginner.
I am knitting the cable blanket and am completely stuck on this pattern line. I’ve completed the border pattern and have as per pattern 125 sts. Then this:
Irish moss -stitch, k5, Inc in next st, ( k7, inc in next st) 13 times, k5, Irish moss- St 5.
I should have then a total of 139 stitches, but I always end up with more.
What am I doing wrong?
Many thanks for your help.

Welcome to KnittingHelp!
How are you working the increase? It should be an increase in a stitch, a knit front and back, a lifted increase, for example.
Moss stitch 5, increase in the 6th stitch then work the repeat. That’s knit 7, increase in the 8th repeat stitch and then repeat the sequence from k7 again: k7, inc in the 8th stitch. End with Moss stitch 5.
Here’s a video for kfb and one for a lifted increase.
(see the increase at 3:20min in this video, the lifted increase)
There are 14 increases across the row plus 125 gives you 139.
Thank you so much @salmonmac. I have been increasing a stitch early and not increasing after the moss stitch. You’ve made it sound so much easier and thank you for the video’s too.
Hope all goes smoothly with the cable blanket. It’s more than a beginner (even improving beginner) project but a good challenge. Have fun with it!
