King Cole Knitting Pattern 3804 mistake - help please!

http://www.kingcole.co.uk/knitting-patterns/babies/sweaters-10.html

Hi there,

I am attempting to knit the above pattern for my daughter’s first Xmas (Rudolph sweater). However I think I have found a mistake in the pattern and not sure to correct it.

I have cast on 70 stitches and worked 7 rows in 2x2 rib. I have followed instructions for decreasing stitches in next row (rib 6, rib2tog, (rib 6, rib2tog) 7 times, rib 6, rib2tog) - pattern states I should have 62 but I have 63 and a quick maths check confirms that I would be left with 63.
What should I do to rectify this? Or do I continue on with 63 instead of 62?
Any advice would be gratefully received. :muah:
Regards
Wendy

I would continue with 63, since that what it adds up to.

Another way to check is to count how many stitches are in the chart at the widest part of the picture, and make sure that you have an even number of plain stitches on each side.
