I am making this shawl and I am almost finished, but it is so tiny- it barely fits my mannequin- I used the right size needle and fingering yarn- it is just super small. I am wondering if I could just repeat the whole thing (making it wider) of if there is a better way to make it wider and longer?
It’s a gorgeous shawl with a stunning lace pattern.
You might measure the gauge in one of the stockinette sections just for your own information. There’s variation under the heading of “fingering” and that might be causing the shawl to be smaller than the pattern size.
That said the size especially in the lace portion will expand with washing and blocking. Lace really shows itself once blocked out and you may be surprised at the resulting size.
Several of the knitters on Ravelry have commented on the smaller than expected size so you’re not alone there. You might repeat the eyelet section rows to make the shawl larger. That would then require more repeats of the lace pattern too.
Thanks for the advice, I think I will do that, and if I decide to make it again, I will use worsted and at least a 5 to 6 mm needle.

That’s worth a try. Also, when you finish and if there’s some of your current yarn leftover you might try a swatch of the lace edging with the larger needles. Be interesting to see what stretching the needle size does to the lace.
