Kid's sweater search

Hallo!
Yesterday I went to a Lys and found some yarn that was for sale. It’s “Quick” from Lana Grossa in a Barbie pink! Unforunately there were only 200 g left. Therefore I want to knit a sweater out of it for my two year old cousin.I know that these 200g might not be enough and I have different yarn lying around to make stripes or so…
Well I thought about this knitting this sweater if I don’t find another pattern:

But the material list confuses me. How can it be that you need the same amount of yarn for all sizes

Thanks in advanced
Janin

Hey! I’m knitting that sweater in the Knit Along section. Don’t worry about the materials. I’m making the largest size and I have left over yarn, so you won’t be using all of the yarn. I have 1.5 oz left of each front and back colors and 3 oz left of each sleeve color.

They usually only list the smallest amount of yarn you can actually buy, in this case one ball of each. It would be nicer if they would just give yardages so we could make sustitutions, wouldn’t it?

So in total you used like 11 oz (aka 300g) to complete the sweater?
I have to recalculate every stitch in the pattern anyway, cause my gauge is totally different (13/20). But that shouldn’t be such a problem since the pattern is quite basic
