I’m in! Hmm…all this talk about purple, has me thinking about grape popcicles. Yep, it always comes back to food.
:cheering: :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
HILDIE!!! How fun!!! I am knitting a scrunchable in purple right now as a matter of fact!!
Don’t forget my twin, Angelia! Her birthday month too!! :cheering: :happydance: :cheering: :happydance: :cheering: :happydance:
I know it’s ang’s birthday too!!! I was just trying to tie in your love of purple :teehee:
thanks for the pic, Chel!!! It’s even purple!!
I must be psychic…I was knitting this
all through January! I was just a month early. :teehee:
I bought some more malabrigo chunky in a similar purple color to attempt to make a hat on DPNs. So, hopefully I can at least get STARTED on that in February, and still be part of the KAL! :cheering:
I’ve never used DPNs before…wish me luck!
wow, I have never joined in one of these before, but I JUST got done dyeing a batch of kettle dyed that is purples! I intended to start a pair of Longies next week! So I am in, just have to check in here more often!
I’m finished! It’s a purple bookmark with lace hearts on it, as you can see…The the bottom heart is pretty messy, but I think the top heart looks okay.
I checked out the Fair Isle Knitting…I think I’ll take the challenge on something small (and purple), maybe this little Coffee Cup Cuff…it’s got to be small for starters eh? I’ve never tried Fair Isle Knitting.
I had no idea this site had all those great videos!!! How awesome! Thanks! :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:
Oooo I like that coffee cuff and I love fair isle! Might have to give that a try, too!
I would like to join as well, this is my first knit along. I am so excited. I think I will do this pattern, but I am going to change the star pattern to something else.
It’s my first fair isle and my first knit along too. So let’s DO IT!
Huh. I just discovered that it requires sportweight yarn. The only yarn I have available in wool is WOTA.
ETA: Oh! Just found this one! I’m going to do this one and see how it works out.
I think I’m going to some fair isle, too. WHAT, I dunno… I want to make something small for my tattoo artist, since she did such an awesome job on it (see here) and I didn’t have any cash with which to tip her
Well I’d say that’s a GREAT reason for a Hobby Lobby trip! :eyebrow:
What does that mean? Can’t you use just any yarn? I was just going to use plain Red Heart.
Oh, and I was thinking…I guess everyone’s FOs can be sent to me for my birthday!!!
What does that mean? Can’t you use just any yarn? I was just going to use plain Red Heart.[/quote]
The pattern sizing is based on that fact that it’s going to be felted. Red Heart won’t felt and if you don’t felt it will be too large…at least the cup cozy would be…the coasters would just be large I guess. Anyway you need 100% wool to felt.
Gosh…wish I had known that before I started!!! So it needs to be 100% wool? I’ve never felted before.
Here’s some articles for you to read up on it. They can explain it better than I can, but ask if you have questions.
Count me in! I have two balls of purple yarn that have been sitting in my stash for 3 months. Last night I figured out how to knit a sock so the yarn is going to be socks!
They’re going to be for my mom but they SHOULD be for my daughter since she turns 13 this month.
Cool. I just bought purple yarn for my Alene Camisole from DIYnetwork.com
So this will be perfect. I’ve got 1 sock to finish up for sockintine and then I will start on this project!
