K3, pass first of the 3 sts just knit over the 2nd and 3rd sts

Can someone help me decipher these instructions? Is this similar to a bind off, in that I pass one stitch over the other (only in this case, it’s the first stitch gets passed over the other two)?

Here are the full pattern instructions (from this pattern):
Row 1 (RS): With A, k1, * k3, pass first of the 3 sts just knit over the 2nd and 3rd sts, rep from * to last st, end k1 – 66 sts.

Row 2: With B, p1, * insert needle from behind under the running thread between the st just worked and the next and purl this thread, p2, rep from * to last st, end p1 – 98 sts.

Row 3: With B, k2, * k3, pass first of the 3 sts just knit over the 2nd and 3rd sts, rep from * across – 66 sts.

Row 4: With A, p2, * insert needle from behind under the running thread between the st just worked and the next and purl this thread, p2, rep from * across – 98 sts.

Yes, that sounds right - take the first one over the other 2, then go on.

I’m not understanding what they are asking here. Which thread am I supposed to purl? Oh I wish there was a video on this stitch. I learn from visualizing so much more than reading.

Hiya drea,
I looked at the pattern and did a little sampling to see what they were talking about and I think that it means it’s a “lifted bar increase” Where you take the bar inbetween stitches and knit or purl it just like it was a stitch. That’s to make up for the one that was decreased on the last row.

I found a much better way of doing the bramble (aka trinity or berry) stitch HERE. The instructions for the Bramble bag are too difficult for me to follow. Now all I have to do is learn to tighten up my trinity.
