I’ve struggled in vain with these instructions. Can someone please explain them more clearly for me? I understand everything except the beginning with the k3, turn, p3, etc. First, how do I k3 into one stitch? Do I slip off the stitch after I k3 and purl into this after turning? Please help?! Thank you!!

Looks like you’re making a bobble.
To K3 into the next stitch, knit as normal, but don’t slide the stitch off. Then knit into the back of the same stitch, and agaiin don’t slide it off. Finally, knit into the front of the stitch again, and then slide it off.
You’ll use these 3 stitches to work the bobble.
Turn the work as if you finished the row and purl those 3 stitches that you just made. Turn the work again and knit those 3.
Turn, then slip the first of those 3 from the left to right needle, knit the other two together, and pass the slipped stitch over the stitch left from the k2tog and over the tip of the needle.
Bobble made!
This is to make a little bobble or popcorn.
You take a stitch on your left-hand needle. Knit as usual through the front half - but don’t lift off! Just bring the loop through. Now do the same thing through the back half of the same left-hand needle stitch - again, don’t lift off! Now go and - in that same poor l’il stitch - knit through the front half once again. NOW you can lift that much-abused stitch off of the left-hand needle.
This produces 3 stitches from one stitch on your right hand needle.
Time to switch. Put your right-hand needle in your left hand… and your left-hand needle in your right-hand. Presto - those three-from-one stitches are now in your left-hand. And you have the wrong-side of your work facing you.
Purl - just those 3 stitches, no more! Now switch again - put your left-hand needle in your right hand, and your right-hand needle in your left hand. Note that now you have the right side of your work facing you.
On those 3 stitches: slip the first stitch onto your right-hand needle. Knit the last 2 of those 3 stitches together, then slide the first stitch from your right-hand needle over the stitch that knitted the last 2 stitches.
End result: one stitch once again - just like you started with. But under that one stitch, you now have a bobble, or a popcorn.
