K2tog help

Hi

I’m very much a beginner and just started learning k2tog. But everytime I do I get these ‘gaps’.
I’ve gone over it a few times and am positive I’m not doing a yarn over or anything. I’m doing what the pattern says which is: k1, k2tog and then knit the rest.
This is a picture of what the gaps are like.
Any help would be great thanks  !

You’re knitting looks very pretty, nice and even.

It may be the tension on the k2tog but just to be sure, here are the steps:
Yarn is always to the back, K1 is now on the right needle:

Needle is going into 2sts from left to right. (I’ve flattened the knitting out so the needle seems to be pointing left):

K2tog complete and now new stitch on right needle:

Knit to the end of row. (I only did k2tog on one edge but you can see there are no gaps):

What is the name of your pattern and designer please?

Yeah that’s what I’m doing - I’ll try and tighten up the stitch on the k2tog and see if that helps.
Thanks for going through the steps like that

The pattern im using is free on lovecrafts it’s called ‘floppy bunny ears by Amanda Berry’. It’s going to be 2 bunny ears and a head band that you’ll sew together image

OK, good. It’s a cute pattern and it would work with the fancy edge that you’ve created. But for future knitting it would be good the clear up the stitch pattern.
As long as your yarn is always at the back, try adjusting the tension a bit (maybe looser if you’re pulling too hard or a bit more tension if you’re knitting very loosely).
Let us know how it’s going.

Yeah I’ll try tighten up the tension when I do the k2tog cause my first knit tension is ok but I think when I do the two together I loosen it up so that might be the problem.
Thanks for the help
