K1P1 into YFRN2 from row below

Hi, I have a Lister pattern for a baby shawl - rosette pattern.
It is a 20 row pattern with some stitches being YFRN2. Every even row is purl except when you reach the YFRN2 stitch and you K1P1 into the YFRN2.
I’m fine with this except - the YFRN2 makes 2 stitches and when the yarn is returned to the back for the SKPO a 3rd stitch is made. This means that when I K1P1 that stitch is ‘baggy’ as there is too much yarn.
I hope this makes sense and someone can help.
I have Googled and You Tubed but always end up with a ‘baggy’ bit!!!

Welcome to KH!
The YFRN should only make 2 new loops over the needle including the return over the right needle to the back to work the SKPO. For example, bring the yarn forward between the needles and over the right needle once. Then come to the front between the needles again and over the needle to the back to work the SKPO.

Thanks for this. I’ve been winding round twice and returning over to resume the pattern. I think I know what to do now!
