I am a fairly new knitter and have only made pretty simple things so far (with help of the great videos on this site - imagine me sitting frowning in front of the computer with my knitting trying to work stitiches out).
Anyway, I am now planning to knit a baby cardigan and one of the stitches is k1below and I am stuck as I can’t find a video here! I’ve seen a couple of pictures on the internet but can anyone point me in the direction of some good clear instructions as I still haven’t got the knack!
If it’s kind of a rib stitch pattern, it’s not an increase. Look on the glossary page for a video under k1b, and there are instructions and pictures on this page - Knitting Fiend Fisherman’s Rib
There’s a difference if the pattern says ‘knit into the stitch below’ or ‘inc by knitting into the stitch below’. The increase usually gives a little more detail. The full link to Techknitter’s blog is http://techknitting.blogspot.com/2008/12/knitting-into-stitch-below.html and gives a good illustration of it too.
