K1B More circles around socks

I am having trouble with this pattern it says to "K1B from the top and front to back, insert RH needle into back of st below next st on LH and knit it -1 st inc.
I think I’m doing it right but what I’m knitting looks NOTHING like the picture, It’s supposed to be a herringbone pattern, but mine looks like purl bumps???

First it says to k1B, then it gives you the instructions. And technically, it isn’t a real k1b which isn’t an increase. On the increase page look at the video for KLL, that’s what they mean. It’s also called LaLink (cat bordhi) or invisible increase (techknitter’s blog).
