[K1, yfwd] twice

I have cast on 117st and have to work lace edging as follows:

Knit 2 rows

3rd row *knit 3 together, [K1, yfwd] twice, K1, K3tog, rept from * to end (91)sts

Please can someone explain [K1,yfwd] twice to me

Here, the yfwd is the same as a YO, so you k3tog, k1 yo k1 yo, k1 k3tog and repeat. Whenever sts are in brackets you repeat those sts however many times it tells you. the yo doesn’t include the knit st, it’s separate - just bring the yarn to the front, then over the needle to the back and knit 1, then repeat it.
