but confused by this part of the pattern…

R1 - K with both tails
R2-R3 - Knit, cut yarn but leave on cable
Also…leave on the cable…what cable? Does that just mean leave on the needle? (I’d be using straight needles)
I believe you knit with the main yarn and the tail for the first row to secure it.
Also, leaving it on the cable is the same as leaving it on the needle in this case.
It’s referring to the [U]cable[/U] joining circular needles, not a cable needle for cable stitches.
Apologies if I’m being thick - but just to clarify and get it clear in my head:aww: …knit the 3 stitches, with both pieces of yarm (the tail and the yarn from ball) at the same time, yes?
