K the K "as they face you"

I’m making the Alexi throwand am confused by some instructions. In the diamond pattern, on the WS rows it says “K the k sts and p the p sts as they face you”.
The end of that confused me. :?? If a RS stitch was a K, do I K on the wrong side too? Or…a RS K stitch looks like a purl on the WS, so do I purl it?

You knit them as they appear: For instance a knit stitch knitted on the right side will look like a purl stitch on the wrong side so you would purl it. The purls will look like knits so you would knit them.
