K from Ws, P from Ws

The Chart is confusing. First time using chart. I could use some help to get it right
I’m thinking
K8 from RS P3 from wrong side, K8 from RS
Thank You Edi

No that’s not quite it - when you’re working a RS row you knit all those stitches, when you’re working a WS row you purl them. I think - it would help to know which pattern this is.

Thank You,
= K from the RS, P from the WS
= P from the RS, K from the WS
= Make a yo, slip a st as if to knit, K 2 tog, psso, make a yo
= Make a yo, K1, slip a st as if to knit, K 2 tog, psso, K1, make a yo
when I look at the chart ,there’s 8 boxes to knit, then purl 3, then knit 8- why does the chart have purls in the middle of knit from rs

If it’s a cable pattern the purls on RS (reverse stockinette) set off the cables.

You are right Thanks , I got it . Now I understand how to read the chart, where 1 starts and 2 begins. Thank you
