Hi, I have a quick question about garter stitch and knit stitch… what exactly is the difference?? And why is it that when you knit all the rows, it makes the garter stitch that has ridges, whereas when you knit one row and then purl one row, it makes v’s on one side of the work and bumps on the other side? :??
Thank you for any answers!!

Just wondering why it is that
When you knit a stitch, it’s really just a v on the front, which we call a knit stitch and a bump on the back, which we call a purl.
When you knit or purl every row on flat needles, you’re alternating which side the v and the bump is on.
When you knit one row and purl one row, all the knits are on one side and all the purls are on one side.
Thanks!
