So, I got this this email today from “The Knitting Circle” @ knittingstardust.com, and I don’t remember subscribing to this email. They have another forum goin’ on over there, and it looks very much like this one, and that’s OK, but I just don’t like the thought of someone subscribing me to a newsletter that I didn’t ask for … or did I ? :?? :oops:

Has anyone else gotten the same thing? There are a few KH people on their forum.

And, no, I don’t really care if they have their own forum and stuff … just saying … I don’t know how they got me.

I’m pretty sure I got something from them too - I think I signed up for a newsletter - but I don’t think I’m on a forum there… :?? I didn’t leave the thing in my inbox long enough to find out…

There was a post about this… it was a new set of boards and you could win some bamboo knitting needles if you signed up. Maybe you signed up for the needles?

I very well could have signed up for it and forgotten. :doh: I don’t mind getting the newsletter. So, I’ll just go w/ the flow for now.

It has been a while. I am not sure but I think that it took them longer than they expected to get all the kinks worked out, and then the forum there got hit by a bunch of spammers and all but shut down for a while. Here is the thread where the needles were talked about, and it was/is in her signature about going to the website and signing up for the newsletter for a chance to win the needles. I joined the forum there and was recently asked to help moderate, and I only just started getting emails too, so I suspect that it has been so long that we just forgot about it (i had forgotten too!) I hope this is the case.

i got a friend request from them on myspace but i do have “knitting” listed under my interest so they could easily find me by searching for people who enjoy knitting

I was wondering about that email, glad I wasn’t the only one who got it. I vaugely remember signing up for needles, but that was ages ago!
